A Deck of Her!

In true DD style she hasn't held back from "doing like Mum does" and has been eagerly awaiting Emily's prompts each Monday morning. Here are her first 13 efforts - remember - she's only 8!

In no particular order - 1)So proud - she's proud of her school

2) Powerful - the weather is something powerful to her

3) I am - the pocket contains descriptions of what she is

4) Signs of Summer

5) Ephemera from our trip to London

6) Love - everything she loves is written round the outside of the heart.

7) The Blue Peter shoebiz appeal - she struggled with that one as well till I had a brainwave

8) Missing - her swimming lessons

9) Inspired by space

10) A reminder that she likes reading

11) Her initial C

12) I believe in Santa
13) Hastings on her mind - we're going there next week and she's not happy she'll miss a prompt!
I've got a few of mine to update as well but will leave it till tomorrow

The Little Things

I took the advantage of the challenge on UKS and Paula Sealey's challenge on Spoonful of Sprinkles to move back to scrapping - as fun as Emily's challenge is I do still long for the freedom of just a bit more space! Tell you what - even 8x8 seemed huge when I did this!

Wow!

Thanks for all the comments on the cards - they gave me confidence to carry on - at least till I saw this weeks prompt. I am DEFINITELY not a shoe person - I have very few comfy pairs a nd it seems a constant struggle between femininity and comfort. That was what inspited me - shoes were HOTP ephemera, and the plaster was Superdrugs! I know these aren't coming o ut that arty - lets face it I dont do arty! - but I'm certainly enjoying this fab challenge.

Oops

Errrmmmm - well my intentions were good. Now I've been spending a month sitting listening to my 40+ pages of Christmas journal nagging me to go on the blog and nothing. Ah well - either I quit this lark or I show some more recent work. Where do we start?

UKS had a challenge to scrap a nursery rhyme - though I struggled at first this is what I came up with using Scrapbook Factory. This was for the House challenge - later tonight I have to set up a poll with 40+ options - think it could be a long night!

After the heavy snow that ended school for both DD and me 2 days early I had some pics to scrap - apparently it was the heaviest we've had for over 10 years. I based the next LO on a combination of today's Pencil Lines sketch and one which was on the front of one of the scrapbook mags recently, can't remember who it was by so apologies if you are reading this!

Finally, for some time I had been eyeing up the Emily Falconbridge playing card minibook and took the chance to have a go over half term. There were 6 weeks to catch up on - here are my 6. Even DD is having a go, though she is still finishing the I am one. The explanation?
1) Proud of - my art and my science - they always say that the two don't go togetehr - I am proud that I am able to combine the two. (my artwork lifts to reveal a science blackboard 2) Powerful - DH and DD - nuff said? 3) I am - getting there - refers to the trials of NQT year 4) Symbol - the Wimbledon logo surrounded by the names of some of the players I have seen play there 5) Ephemera - offcuts from a London bound train ticket and Mary Poppins ticket, paper from the SBI that came out this week as well 6) Love means everything in tennis - which was how I met DH

On Beta now

Just making a quick post to see if this will work or not now I have gone onto Beta!

I've now finished Shimelle's class and I have to say it was a fantastic experience and I can guarantee it won't be the last class of hers I do. Nowe I just need to get some pics uploaded!

Days 1-4

OK - I am in awe of anyone who has been able to post images of their work from Shim's class - it takes all my time to do the LO! But at least I am up to date - day 10 has just been finished so I'm pretty pleased about that. Can't believe how much I'm loving this class!Anyway here are the first 4 days - I did a DLO for the Christmas weather prompt on the second (Still Dreaming) - it seems to have been one mild winter so far this year!
The challenge of getting the LOs to line up anywhere near sensibly also seems beyond me - but hey - at least I've published!

Yikes

I am a very bad blogger. Over a month since my last post - but I have got excuses - honest!

UKS had a cybercrop at the end of last month so the whole of November was taken up with the fun preparations for that - I will upload some pics later on - if Blogger lets me! I was lucky enough to be in Gryffindor with the fab Prof Dolly - that woman really is an inspiration! OK - we didn't win, but we had a lot of fun trying!

Then Claire persuaded me to sign up for the UKS secret Santa - I did it last year and had a fab time and I think Claire enjoyed opening the pressies almost as much as I did. But this year - wow - I have been so lucky with the things I have got - and it's only day 6. Again I'll try and get some pics loaded up.

Finally I have joined Shimelle's Christmas journal class and so far I have been able to keep up with what she has beens ending us. I hesitated for a year before joining but after doing her fab class finally took the plunge. Not only is it making me think about my scrapping more - but it has been fab for restoring the Christmas spirit. Why did I wait so long?
